Therapy Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to all therapy services provided by Vicky Tunaley, trading as Trance for a Change. They apply to face-to-face appointments at my therapy room in Hinckley, Leicestershire, online sessions, and, where agreed, sessions delivered at another suitable location.
Their purpose is to explain what you can expect from me as your therapist, what I ask of you as a client, and how appointments, fees and confidentiality are managed. My aim is to provide a professional, safe and supportive service while ensuring that our working agreement is clear from the outset.
By booking an appointment or receiving therapy, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions. If you have any questions about them, please ask before your first appointment.

Consultation and Fees
Standard therapy appointments are approximately 60 minutes in duration. Occasionally, a session may run slightly longer if appropriate, depending on the natural flow of the therapy and the issues we are working on. Longer specialist appointments, such as Stop Smoking or Past Life Regression sessions, will be discussed and agreed in advance.
Current fees are published on this website and will be confirmed at the time of booking. Payment is required either during online booking or at the end of your appointment by cash or card, unless otherwise agreed.
From time to time, my fees may be reviewed. Any change will only apply to future appointments and will be communicated in advance. If you are already part-way through an agreed course of therapy, your existing fee will normally remain unchanged for the remainder of that course.
Your Commitment to Therapy
Hypnotherapy is most effective when we work together as a partnership. While much of the progress takes place during our sessions, lasting change is often supported by what happens between appointments.
Where appropriate, I may suggest simple exercises, reflection, or provide hypnosis recordings for you to listen to between sessions. These are designed to support your progress and help reinforce the work we do together.
You are always free to discuss any suggestions or raise any concerns, but clients who actively engage with the therapeutic process often gain the greatest benefit from their sessions.
Appointments
Attending your appointments regularly helps maintain the momentum of therapy and gives you the best opportunity to achieve your goals.
Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. If you are unable to attend, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can offer the appointment to another client where appropriate. Details of my cancellation policy are set out below.
Arriving late for an Appointment
If you are running late, please let me know as soon as possible.
I will always do my best to provide your full appointment wherever possible. However, this may not be possible if I have another client booked after you. In these circumstances, your session may need to finish at the original scheduled time to avoid delaying subsequent appointments.
The full session fee will still be payable if your appointment is shortened because of a late arrival.
If you expect to arrive more than 15 minutes late, please contact me as soon as possible. Depending on my schedule, it may be necessary to rearrange your appointment.
Cancellation Policy
My cancellation policy requires at least 24 hours’ notice of cancellation via telephone, or text. If an appointment is cancelled with less notice half the session fee will apply. If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please give me at least 24 hours’ notice wherever possible by telephone or text message.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a cancellation charge of 50% of the session fee. This reflects the time that has been reserved specifically for you and the difficulty of offering the appointment to another client at short notice.
I understand that genuine emergencies and exceptional circumstances can arise, and these will always be considered with discretion.
If I need to cancel your appointment due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, I will contact you as soon as possible to rearrange your appointment or provide a full refund for any payment already made.
Confidentiality
Your privacy is very important to me. Details of how your personal information is collected, stored and used can be found in my Privacy Policy, which is available on the Trance for a Change website. If you would prefer a copy by email, I will be happy to provide one.
As part of my commitment to maintaining high professional standards, I undertake regular clinical supervision. During supervision, aspects of my work may be discussed for professional and ethical purposes. Wherever possible, all identifying information will be removed so that your privacy is protected.
Everything you share during therapy will be treated in confidence. However, there are some circumstances where I may need to share information without your consent. These include:
- Where I believe there is a serious risk of harm to you or another person.
- Where there are safeguarding concerns involving a child or an adult at risk.
- Where disclosure is required by law or a court order.
Wherever it is safe and appropriate to do so, I will always aim to discuss this with you before sharing any information.
Information will only ever be shared on a need-to-know basis and only to the extent necessary to protect safety or comply with legal obligations.
Standards of Behaviour
I am committed to providing a safe, professional and respectful environment in which you can feel comfortable discussing your concerns. In return, I ask that you treat me, my premises and any other clients with the same courtesy and respect.
For your safety and to ensure that therapy is effective, please do not attend appointments under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs. Prescribed medication should be taken as directed by your doctor unless you have been advised otherwise by the prescribing clinician.
I reserve the right to end or rearrange a session if I believe you are unable to engage safely in therapy due to the effects of alcohol or drugs, or if your behaviour is threatening, abusive or violent. In these circumstances, I may also decide that it is not appropriate to offer further appointments.
If at any stage I believe that hypnotherapy is not the most appropriate form of support for you, or that another service would better meet your needs, I may recommend pausing or ending therapy and, where appropriate, suggest an alternative source of support.
Questions
If you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions before your appointment, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’ll be happy to answer them.
